The D Collection @ Shintaro Koi Farm

We are finally back from Japan after an amazing successful trip.

We are now ready to launch the D Collection! Our very own mud pond housed at Shintaro Koi Farm holding a selection of the most amazing Koi and now we are sharing with you!!

We have now released our YouTube video showing our selection at Shintaro Koi Farm. We feel incredibly lucky to have been able to select from some of Shintaro’s very best koi.

This is a fantastic opportunity to own the koi of your dreams and have it swimming in Japan’s famous mud ponds.

How it works: once you have selected your koi, Shintaro Koi Farm will Azukari your koi until October in our very own mud ponds in the mountains of Japan. If you are unsure what Azukari means, this is where the breeder personally cares for and feeds the koi, checking them daily and ensuring the ponds are maintained in the very best conditions possible to help your koi grow and develop to its full potential.

We have personally selected 26 koi from some of Shintaro’s very best tategoi, which he believes have excellent futures ahead. We took the time to travel to Japan and carefully hand-pick what we believe are some truly special koi for you all. The price will include this year’s Azukari fees.

There is also the opportunity, if you wish, to come to Japan in October and take part in harvesting the koi — an amazing experience where you can help with the netting process and returning the koi back to the koi house.

The koi will then be shipped back in December, with shipping costs to be paid prior to shipping. Once back with us, we will quarantine the koi ready for collection.

There may also be the opportunity to keep your koi in Japan for an additional year. After the October harvest, we can speak with the breeder and see what he feels is best for the future development of the koi. If this is something you choose, there will be an additional Azukari fee to continue growing your koi on in the mud ponds of Japan.

• Payment is for Koi and Azakari only. Postage from Japan to the UK will be arranged for arrival in the UK in December. Cost is based on size. As a guide this could be between £300-£400.
